Three plans and a 30-day free trial

FishMap now comes in three plans, and every new account starts with a 30-day free trial with every feature. Here is what each plan includes and how billing works.

Free trial: 30 days, every feature

Download the app and sign in. The trial starts at your first sign-in and includes everything: all ocean layers, fish habitat maps, live weather (5 hours) and 30 fish for the AI Captain. No card is needed, and the top bar shows how many days are left.

The three plans

Offshore: $38 a month or $380 a year

The basic sea layers for planning a trip: currents, waves (height, direction and period), sea surface temperature, sea surface height and depth, with 7-day forecasts. It also includes AIS from your own receiver, seasonal fishing closures, the fishing-spot book, two saved fishing zones and offline trip download.

AI Captain: $77 a month or $770 a year

Everything in Offshore, plus the AI Captain with 300 fish every 30 days. The assistant can use FishMap's sea and fish habitat data in its answers, even where those map layers belong to the Fishing Ground plan.

Fishing Ground: $192 a month or $1,920 a year

Everything: the advanced ocean layers (temperature at depth, salinity, chlorophyll, sea level anomaly and ocean fronts), fish habitat maps for nine species, live weather (radar, satellite, wind, waves and storms) with 60 hours every 30 days, 770 fish for the AI Captain and ten saved fishing zones.

A yearly plan costs the same as 10 months. Each plan works on up to two computers; signing in on a third signs out the one unused for longest.

Fish: paying for AI answers

Each answer uses a few fish: a quick question about 1–2, a data lookup 2–3, an area and species question 3–4, a deep zone analysis 7–8. Plan fish renew every 30 days and do not carry over. On the AI Captain and Fishing Ground plans you can top up with packs: 100 fish for $2.50, 500 for $12.50 or 1,000 for $25. Purchased fish are used after your plan's fish and stay valid for 12 months.

Weather time

Live weather is counted in hours per 30 days. Time only counts while a weather layer is on the map, the app window is open and you are using the computer; the weather layers pause after 10 minutes without input.

Paying, renewing and upgrading

• Pay by card in US dollars (orders from $10), or by bank-transfer QR in Vietnam, which pays the equivalent in dong.
• Plans do not renew automatically. The app reminds you 7, 3 and 1 days before the end.
• Upgrade at any time: the unused days of your current plan carry over to the new one. You can move to a lower plan when the current one ends.

When the trial or a plan ends, the app keeps the base map and your account centre open so you can choose a plan.
